The Kyrie Irving Experience has come to Brooklyn BABY.
According to ESPN's Jackie MacMullan, Irving's "mood swings ... are the unspoken concern that makes Nets officials queasy"
"When Irving lapses into these funks, he often shuts down, unwilling to communicate with the coaching staff, front office and sometimes, even his teammates. Nets team sources say one such episode occurred during Brooklyn's trip to China, leaving everyone scratching their heads as to what precipitated it."
Kyrie has a relatively long history of these issues, notably the issues he had with LeBron’s leadership after winning the ring in Cleveland, and being a terrible leader with Boston.
When discussing Kyrie Irving's mood, The Ringer’s Chris Vernon pointed to something else he had heard about the Brooklyn superstar:
"There is an NBA photographer that I’ve known for a very long time, okay, who was in town for the Grizzlies and the Nets game. And he told me before the game — and I could not believe this — he said he was out before the game in pregame warm-ups shooting, like taking pictures, and Kyrie Irving came up to him and said ‘do not take any pictures of me in pregame."
On a separate occasion in China, Irving refused to remove his hat for a team photoshoot at the Pearl TV Tower. He reportedly said the team should photoshop the hat out if they don’t want him to be shown wearing it.
Do you think he has brought this experience to Brooklyn? Do we expect this to change do we think combustible Kyrie is here to stay?
"I guess some people never change. Or, they quickly change and then quickly change back." - Homer Simpson
We also segwayed into Kyrie's signature collaborations with Spongebob and former hit TV show FRIENDS. What do we think about these collaborations?
Unfortunately the promotional text and reasons why Kyrie had a FRIENDS collaboration in the first place hasn't aged well given his Kyrie-ness as of late.
During their triumph over the Grizzlies, Lebron James whipped up the Staples Center into a frenzy with a Taco Tuesday chant. Anthony Davis also had a monster game with 40 points 20 rebounds on 26/27 free throw shooting, matching Wilt Chamberlain's record on the Lakers.
At the Timberwolves @ 76ers game on Wednesday night there was a KAT FIGHT!
The Karl Anthony Towns / Joel Embiid beef led to an amazing scuffle on the floor of the Wells Fargo Center. KAT threw a punch that didn't connect which led to an eye-poking and much much more.
Embiid in the post-game interview said...
The Dark Knight's nemesis the Penguin even made an appearance.
That's some freaky ass shit.
Johan's bet for I'll Bet 5 On It is on the left and Herwin's is on the right. Do we agree?
In Garbage Time Johan gave us his spoiler-free review of the new Terminator: Dark Fate movie.
Do you agree with his assessment on the podcast?
Noel also reviews the Impossible Burger at Burger King. Is it a good alternative? Noel seems to think so.
